Terms of Use
Last updated September 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Viereck Group LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("we" or "us"), about your use of the WhereKept app and the services behind it ("WhereKept"). By creating an account or using WhereKept, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use WhereKept.
1. Who can use WhereKept
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
2. Your account
You sign in with an email address and password or with Sign in with Apple. Keep your sign in details private. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Each account is for one person.
3. Households and sharing
WhereKept organizes everything in a household. A household's places, items, photos, notes, and history belong to the household, not to the individual member who added them.
With WhereKept Plus, members can share an invite code. Anyone who joins with that code can see and edit everything in the household, including adding, moving, and deleting items. Only share the code with people you trust. We are not responsible for what members of your household do with its information.
If you leave a household or delete your account, what you added stays with the household for its remaining members, with your name removed. A household with no remaining members is deleted along with its items and photos.
We do not decide disagreements between household members about who owns or controls a household or anything in it.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into WhereKept: item names, notes, photos, and anything else ("your content"). You give us permission to store, copy, process, and display your content only as needed to run WhereKept for you and your household, including sending a photo to our photo identification provider when you ask for identification.
You are responsible for your content. Do not store anything you do not have the right to store, or anything illegal.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use WhereKept to break the law, to store content that infringes someone else's rights, to try to access another household's information, to interfere with the service or its security, or to copy, resell, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
6. WhereKept Plus subscriptions
WhereKept Plus is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's App Store, yearly or monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel it in your Apple ID settings, or from the Manage subscription button in the app. Deleting your WhereKept account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Apple handles billing and refunds under its own terms. We do not issue refunds directly.
One subscription covers the household of the person who pays. If that person leaves the household or deletes their account, Plus continues for that household until the end of the period already paid for, and then does not renew. When Plus ends, nothing you added is locked or deleted: it stays searchable and exportable, and the free plan's limits apply to anything new.
We may change prices, plan features, or free plan limits. Price changes for existing subscriptions follow Apple's rules, including notice.
7. Photo identification
Photo identification suggests an item's name, brand, and model from a photo using an outside AI provider. Suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. Review them before saving. Plus includes a monthly limit on identifications, currently 300 per household.
8. Insurance exports and records
WhereKept can export your inventory as a spreadsheet or, with Plus, a PDF meant for insurance. The export only contains what you entered. It is not an appraisal, a valuation, or insurance or legal advice, and we do not promise that any insurer will accept it. Keep receipts and other records your insurer asks for.
9. Keep your own copies
We work to keep WhereKept running and your data safe, but no service is perfect. Export your inventory from time to time and keep a copy somewhere else, especially before relying on it for an insurance claim.
10. Changes and ending service
We may update, change, or stop parts of WhereKept. If we stop offering WhereKept entirely, we will give at least 30 days notice and a way to export your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
You can stop using WhereKept at any time and delete your account from the Household tab in the app.
11. Disclaimers
WhereKept is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement. We do not promise that WhereKept will be uninterrupted, error free, or that data will never be lost.
12. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost items, or lost profits, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about WhereKept is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for WhereKept Plus in the 12 months before the claim or $50.
13. Apple
These terms are between you and Viereck Group LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for WhereKept or its content.
- Your license to use the app on Apple devices is limited to devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for WhereKept.
- If WhereKept fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for WhereKept.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling claims about WhereKept, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If anyone claims WhereKept infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and resolving that claim.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a terrorist supporting country, and you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third party terms, such as your wireless data plan, when using WhereKept.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will note it in the app and update the date at the top. Continuing to use WhereKept after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
